Darren Daum
Darren Daum was born and raised in Platte, South Dakota, where he learned to work hard and keep faith and family at the center of his life. After high school, he attended Mitchell Technical Institute and completed the Electrical Construction and Maintenance program. He spent the next several years gaining hands-on experience while becoming a Journeyman and eventually earned his Electrical Contractor’s License.
Darren joined Summit Contracting in August 2021 to help expand the electrical division. Over time, his role evolved to include estimating, electrical design, and support for Summit’s grain monitoring systems. Today, he serves as the Seward Location Manager, overseeing daily operations for the electrical, millwright, building, concrete, and grain monitoring teams. He also leads electrical design and estimating efforts across Nebraska and South Dakota, helping secure and execute new projects with precision and quality.
Darren enjoys the variety each day brings and takes pride in helping teammates solve challenges and keep projects on track. One of his favorite parts of the job is seeing a project come to life, starting as a design on the computer and ending as a fully completed system. He finds purpose in helping team members overcome challenges and keep things moving.
Calling Lincoln, NE home, Darren stays active with his wife Emily and their two daughters. They enjoy mission work, spending time outdoors, and serving in their church. Their golden retriever, Kota, is also a much-loved part of the family.
